Gingerbread Oatmeal

Ingredients

1 cup 1% low-fat milk

Pinch salt

½ cup Quaker Old Fashioned Oats*

1 ½ teaspoons dark brown sugar

1 teaspoon molasses

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for sprinkling

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Pinch ground cloves

1 tablespoon whipped cream


Directions

Place the milk and salt into a medium saucepan and bring to a gentle boil. Stir in the oats, sugar, molasses, cinnamon, ginger and cloves and cook, stirring occasionally, until the oats are tender and the oatmeal has thickened, about 5 minutes.

Serve dolloped with whipped cream and sprinkle of cinnamon.

Makes 1 serving

* This can be made with any variety of Quaker plain oats, adjust cooking time accordingly
